UC Berkeley Chicanx Latinx Alumni Association was formed under the California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for the purposes of maintaining UC Berkeley’s tradition of academic excellence through diversity. The association provides a mechanism for all alumni to network as professionals, share ideas and access resources that will foster stewardship and mentorship for Chicanx Latinx students. CLAA strives to create an expanding force of UC Berkeley Chicanx Latinx alumni throughout our state, national and international contacts who are committed to maintaining ties with the larger UC Berkeleycommunity. They provide valuable support to UC Berkeley’s efforts in recruiting, retaining, and helping Chicanx Latinx students graduate. In keeping within the spirit of the UC Berkeley community, CLAA upholds: the inclusion of all people, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, politics or beliefs, and perspectives; celebration of culture, UC Berkeley pride, academic excellence, and alumni commitment to service and philanthropy; and involvement with UC Berkeley, the California Alumni Association (the “CAA”), and the greater University of California community.
